The Guard is the person who watches people in the bus to Camp Green Lake so they don't do anything, he wears a police outfit, he has a rifle, and he has dark sunglasses (according to the book the sunglasses are so dark you can't tell if his eyes are open or closed) The Guard in the film is portrayed by Ski Carr. In the film Mr. Sir was giving the guard a Coca-Cola bottle and Stanley thought Mr. Sir was giving soda to him, and The Guard asks Mr. Sir, ''What's with the sunflower seeds?'' Mr. Sir replies, ''I quit smoking.''
He is shown to have a close relationship with Mr. Sir, though it's unclear if he ever found out if Mr. Sir was actually a criminal on parole.
